Star Wars Day is just around the corner, and fans have plenty to celebrate this year. To mark the May 4th festivities, Disney, Lucasfilm, and Epic Games are teaming up to launch the new Star Wars content in Fortnite. This massive collaboration brings a wave of fresh games and rewards to the battle royale hit.

Exploring the New Star Wars Content in Fortnite

Epic announced earlier this March that all Fortnite creators would receive access to special Star Wars assets. The results of this initiative are now live, offering players a variety of unique experiences. This expansion of the new Star Wars content in Fortnite allows for much more than just standard skins.

“After years of creating Star Wars experiences with Disney and Lucasfilm, we gave Star Wars’ heroes, worlds and assets to Fortnite creators so they could build the experiences they’ve always dreamed of playing," said Adam Sussman, President of Epic Games. "It’s now possible to create a limitless variety of games in the Star Wars universe that anyone in Fortnite can play.”

Here are the standout islands currently available:

  • Star Wars: Galactic Siege: Created by JOGO Studios, this is a 10v10 PvP class-based capture the flag game set across the galaxy.
  • Star Wars: Droid Tycoon: Developed by “FOAD” (Fear of a Dawn), players can build over 40 different droids using authentic blueprints.
  • Escape Vader: A 4-player co-op experience from Beyond Creative where teams must survive on a wrecked Star Destroyer while being hunted by the Dark Lord.

The Mandalorian & Grogu Watch Party

The collaboration extends beyond custom maps to highlight upcoming cinematic releases. On May 19, players can visit the new Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island. This event features a brand-new 10-minute scene from the upcoming film ahead of its release on May 22.

Fans can also look forward to an interactive Q&A session on May 26. The movie's director, Jon Favreau, will appear on the island to discuss The Mandalorian & Grogu. This event ensures that the new Star Wars content in Fortnite remains a central part of the fandom's conversation.

Expanding the Star Wars Universe

The integration of these worlds is part of a larger strategy for Disney. IGN spoke with James Waugh, Senior Vice President of Franchise Story and Creative Strategy at Lucasfilm, about how these experiences fit into the overall Star Wars canon.

Sean Shoptaw, Executive VP of Disney Games and Digital Entertainment, highlighted the importance of this evolution. "Interactive entertainment is rapidly becoming one of the defining forces in how audiences experience stories, and Disney is fully embracing that evolution," Shoptaw stated.

He added: "Games offer a uniquely powerful way to deepen engagement, expand our worlds, and connect with fans in real time. As this space continues to grow, we see extraordinary potential to elevate Disney storytelling in ways that are innovative, social, and built for the way people play today."
