I enjoyed Atomfall immensely, particularly once I stopped treating it like a "British Fallout" and embraced its identity as a linear survival-shooter. It stands as the most successful game launch in Rebellion's 30-year history. Now, there is even more reason for fans to be excited: a new TV show based on a videogame is officially in development.
From Rebellion’s Biggest Hit to the Small Screen
While details are currently sparse, the series is being developed through a partnership between Rebellion and the British production company Two Brothers. The studio is well-known for producing award-winning hits such as The Missing and Fleabag.
The project will be written by Two Brothers founders Harry and Jack Williams. They have expressed great enthusiasm for the transition from gameplay to screen.
"Atomfall has such a distinctive British tone and setting, and it’s been a real joy developing it alongside the Rebellion team—especially as two brothers working alongside two brothers (Rebellion founders Jason and Chris Kingsley)," the brothers said. "There’s something very exciting about expanding this strange, unsettling story for television."

Unlike many big-budget titles that rely on exhausting debates over canon, Atomfall offers a setting with immense narrative flexibility. The world allows for a unique blend of genres that can be explored through a television lens:

The potential for this TV show based on a videogame lies in its atmosphere. I can easily envision a quintessential British murder mystery set in the English countryside—the kind featuring a retired librarian and a local tea shop owner solving crimes.
However, instead of investigating a high murder rate in a tiny village, they would be unravelling the dark secrets of the Windscale quarantine. It is exactly the kind of television I would tune in to watch.
