Much like the legendary Silver Fang and White Bear mounts, you must actually defeat the Phoenix before you can claim it. Once defeated, you will need to craft a specific item to finalize the process.
Requirements for Taming the Phoenix
Before you set out on your hunt, ensure you have gathered the necessary tools and unlocked specific abilities. To successfully complete this task, you will need:
- At least one explosive arrow (which can be purchased from the Back Alley Trader in Tommaso).
- The Charged Shot skill unlocked to ensure you can hit the bird effectively.
- Access to the Witch's Lair vendor, which is unlocked via their faction quest during Chapter 5.
Having these items ready will make the hunt much easier, especially since killing the bird is the only way to unlock it as a pet.
Where to Find the Phoenix in Crimson Desert
The Phoenix is located in the north of the Crimson Desert region, positioned just south of the Trader's Expanse. You can find it within a ravine area where it flies among a flock of smaller golden birds.
Because the Phoenix is a massive golden bird, it is quite easy to spot once you are in the right area. For the best results, I recommend heading to the large stone pillar in the center of the crater and waiting for the Phoenix to fly past. Once it is in range, use your explosive arrow combined with the Charged Shot skill to take it down.
How to Tame the Phoenix in Crimson Desert
Once you have successfully taken the bird down, you must follow a specific crafting process to secure your new pet. First, find where the bird fell and skin its corpse to obtain a Phoenix Feather.
After securing the feather, head to the Witch's Lair vendor and follow these steps:
- Select the Craft Abyss Gear option from the menu.
- Navigate to the Special Items tab.
- Use your feather to craft a Sigil of Solidarity (Phoenix).
- Open your inventory, go to the Key Item: Treasure section, and consume the Sigil.
Following these steps will officially unlock the Phoenix as a pet for your collection.
