The massive surge in Resident Evil Requiem sales has officially prompted Capcom to raise its profit forecast for the upcoming year. In a newly-released financial statement, the publisher revealed that the game's performance has significantly exceeded previous expectations across multiple sectors.
Resident Evil Requim Sales Drive Record Growth
With sales now reaching 7 million copies and continuing to climb, the title is a major pillar of Capcom's recent success. The company noted that this momentum contributed to "net sales, operating profit, ordinary profit and net profit" that all "outperform our previously announced forecast."
The game's launch was nothing short of historic for the franchise. Upon its release, Resident Evil Requiem sales hit a staggering 5 million copies in just five days, making it the fastest-selling title in the entire Resident Evil series.
Capcom’s Expanded Financial Projections
Beyond the latest blockbuster, Capcom is seeing unexpected growth from its back catalog. The company's recent performance has been bolstered by several key factors:
- Continued content support for Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6.
- Steady popularity and sales of older "catalog titles."
- Favorable performance in Arcade Operations and Amusement Equipments.
As a result, Capcom now expects net sales to reach 195.3 billion yen (approximately $1.2 billion), marking a 3% increase from its previous forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. Additionally, the company anticipates a net profit of 54.5 billion yen ($320 million), an increase of 6.9%.
"In our core Digital Contents business, in addition to Resident Evil Requiem (the latest title in the Resident Evil series that was released in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026) being met with broad acclaim globally, sales grew for catalog titles from major series due to their steady popularity," Capcom wrote.
Future Content and DLC on the Horizon
Fans of the series have plenty of reasons to stay optimistic about future content. A mysterious content update is scheduled for next month, which players expect will introduce a new version of The Mercenaries mode. This anticipation follows recent datamine leaks that revealed tense new music intended for the update.
Following this upcoming release, Capcom has also confirmed that a full-blown story DLC is currently in the works.
