While the first trailer for Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has finally arrived, it leaves many questions unanswered. We have only seen glimpses of the villains facing Spidey and Mark Ruffalo appearing in his human Bruce Banner form. However, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Marvel Legends figures are providing much more clarity regarding what to expect from this MCU adventure.

A Return to Savage Roots with Spider-Man: Brand New Day Marvel Legends Figures

Hasbro recently unveiled its first wave of action figures and toys based on the upcoming film. The standout reveal is a massive Hulk figure that suggests Banner is moving away from the "Smart Hulk" status quo established in 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

This new figure points toward a return to the character's classic, savage roots. Gone are the glasses, bodysuit, and serene facial expressions. In their place, Hasbro has introduced torn clothing and a much more aggressive, screaming headsculpt.

These Spider-Man: Brand New Day Marvel Legends figures also lend weight to circulating plot rumors. Many fans believe that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will team up to battle an enraged Hulk during the movie. The design of these new toys certainly supports that theory.

Scorpion Design and the Actionverse Line

Alongside the collector-focused Marvel Legends, Hasbro is also releasing a series of Marvel Actionverse figures geared toward a younger audience. This line provides our first clear look at Michael Mando’s Scorpion design for the film.

The new figure reveals that the villain will be sporting a heavily armored suit. Key features of this design include:

  • A clearly defined, heavy armor plating
  • A functional, prehensile scorpion tail
  • A menacing, updated aesthetic for the character

While these toys answer some of our biggest questions, plenty of mysteries remain. We still don't know which Marvel character Sadie Sink is playing, though fans are already attempting to piece it together. We may have to wait until the film hits theaters—or another toy reveal occurs—to find the truth.
