The Boys Season 5, Episode 5 Video Teases a Supernatural Reunion and an Up Close View of Homelander's Ass

As Prime Video prepares for the final stretch of its hit series, a brand-new teaser for The Boys Season 5, Episode 5 has arrived. The footage confirms several massive developments, including the introduction of new faces and... well, an uncomfortably close look at Homelander's posterior.

With the series nearing its conclusion, fans are getting a glimpse of significant plot shifts just a few episodes away from the series finale. The teaser highlights both high-stakes drama and the signature irreverent humor the show is known for.

A Supernatural Reunion in The Boys Season 5, Episode 5

The most exciting revelation for longtime viewers is a "delightful reunion" that fans are calling Supernatural. The teaser features three major actors from the iconic CW series, which ran from 2005 to 2020:

  • Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy (formerly Dean Winchester).
  • Jared Padalecki, appearing as Mister Marathon (formerly Sam Winchester).
  • Misha Collins, appearing in a mysterious new role (formerly Castiel).

This reunion is teased by Giancarlo Esposito’s character, Stan Edgar. The footage shows Soldier Boy and Homelander visiting Mister Marathon and a mystery character to hunt for information regarding V-One. As the original super serum, V-One is something Homelander is desperate to find to achieve immortality.

New Characters and Explosive Lore

The return of Mister Marathon brings much-needed backstory to the Vought universe. Previously only mentioned in passing, Mister Marathon was once The Seven's premier speedster before being replaced by A-Train due to his declining speed as he aged.

Showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed that this appearance is significant. "I want a meaty, fun role that really turns the story," Kripke told Entertainment Weekly. He added, "He used to be at Seven Tower, he was in that conference room, he was a part of the lore. So I thought that was perfect."

Kripke also noted his excitement for playing with the character's darker side: "And part of me just loved the idea of him playing a coke-blowing scumbag because he's such a good guy both in real life and in all the roles he plays. I just wanted him to be really sleazy, and he crushed it."

What Else is Coming to Season 5?

The teaser is packed with chaotic imagery and hints at future arrivals. While some characters are appearing late in the game, they are clearly intended to shake up the established status quo. Aside from the intense interrogation scenes, the teaser includes:

  • A gory explosion involving Mister Marathon.
  • Terror, Billy Butcher's loyal English Bulldog, enjoying himself.
  • The introduction of Bombsite, played by Stranger Things star Mason Dye.
  • An unfortunate and very messy toilet experience.

While fans are questioning the timing of adding new characters so late in the series, others are looking forward to seeing how Bombsite—a supe from the 1950s film The Curse of Fu Manchu—impacts the final battle.
