The actor recently shut down suggestions that he is secretly appearing in the upcoming film, specifically denying rumors regarding a digitally altered shot in the recent trailer.

When asked to comment on the footage, Garfield described the situation as "insane" and "absolutely ludicrous." Speaking to Capital FM, he dismissed the idea that there is hidden footage waiting to be discovered in the frame.
"This feels like a reach to be honest, what do you mean there's room for more characters?" Garfield remarked. He noted that the composition is quite simple: "It's literally just space underneath Spider-Man. They're all headed to Spider-Man. There's room for more characters in every frame of the film, probably."
He continued by mocking the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer fan theory as "absolutely ludicrous conspiracy theory level attempts at investigative journalism." He even added a cheeky disclaimer: "You notice that I didn't say I wasn't in it though, right?"
