The re-release of Avengers: Endgame in theaters will include brand-new footage, Marvel Studios has said.

As reported by Variety, speaking during Disney’s CinemaCon 2026 presentation, co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that Endgame will return to theaters with brand-new footage, although they stopped short of saying what this will be.

The news comes as part of the announcement of Infinity Vision, a new certification for premium large format (PLF) theaters. Disney said that Infinity Vision will “signify to audiences which auditoriums offer the biggest, brightest, and most immersive cinematic experiences.” The focus is on the largest screens for maximum scale, laser projection for superior brightness and clarity, and premium audio formats for fully immersive sound.

Beginning with the September re-release of Avengers: Endgame and followed by Avengers: Doomsday in December, audiences “will be able to seek out Infinity Vision-certified screens and see the film on the grandest possible scale, exactly as intended,” Disney said.

Avengers: Doomsday will not release in Imax in the U.S. due to a clash with Dune: Part Three, which comes out the same day. Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi sequel has Imax all to itself during an exclusive three-week launch period.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios showed the debut trailer for Avengers: Doomsday at CinemaCon, and we have a recap of what happens here.
