Why the Disney Lorcana TCG: Collection Starter Set - Stitch Edition Is Perfect for Beginners

If you are new to Disney Lorcana or looking to expand your collection, I strongly recommend the Disney Lorcana TCG: Collection Starter Set - Stitch Edition. After getting my hands on this set earlier this month, I can confirm it is an ideal entry point for beginners and collectors alike. This Stitch-themed starter set is part of the recently released Winterspell expansion and includes a Stitch - Rock Star card portfolio, four Winterspell booster packs, a handy collector's guide, and a special "Glimmer Foil" Stitch - Carefree Snowboarder Promo Card.

The Highlight: A GORGEOUS Exclusive Promo Card

I want to start with the card because it is GORGEOUS. This exclusive promo features amazing art from Federico Maria Cugliari of Stitch having the time of his life snowboarding. It is all gold and shimmers with the colors of the rainbow in the proper light, making it a standout piece. It has become a new showpiece in my collection, feeling special and rare compared to other cards. The Lorcana team made a great decision featuring Stitch, who is more popular than ever following his box-office smash hit live-action film with a sequel on the way.

The card looks incredible when displayed in the included Stitch - Rock Star card portfolio. This portfolio can hold up to 80 cards, ensuring your collection stays safe and secure while showcasing your favorite characters.

Inside the Winterspell Booster Packs: Rarity Breakdown

Speaking of the cards, the set comes with four Winterspell booster packs. While I didn't have the greatest luck opening them, I did manage to snag some exciting finds:

  • A Legendary Tod - Knows All the Tricks from The Fox and the Hound.
  • A Rare 'Do You Want to Build a Snowman?', which we were able to exclusively reveal prior to the launch of Winterspell.

All in all, the four booster packs contained 48 cards with the following distribution:

  • Common: 25 cards (52.08%)
  • Uncommon: 14 cards (29.16%)
  • Rare: 8 cards (16.66%)
  • Legendary: 1 card (2.08%)
  • Holo: 4 cards (8.33%)

A Valuable Collector's Guide and Final Verdict

In addition to the packs, this starter set includes a small Collector's Guide. While you can find this info online, having this card-sized booklet is incredibly convenient for new players. It breaks down exactly what you need to know about Disney Lorcana, including:

  • How each part of a card works.
  • Strategies for building and keeping your collection safe.
  • An explanation of the different rarity levels.
  • How to view all your cards in a digital library.

Overall, I highly recommend this Starter Set. At a $30 MSRP, it is roughly $5-$6 more than buying a booster pack on its own. However, instead of getting just one more random pack, you guarantee a really great Stitch card, a matching portfolio, and valuable information to help you become a better player or collector.
